CALL FOR ABSTRACTS


Pre-registration is obligatory for call for abstracts.

Online abstract submission will open on September 1, 2008.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 1, 2009
Participants wishing to present a paper are invited to submit an abstract. All abstracts will be considered for oral and poster presentation.

GENERAL POLICIES:
  • Authors are permitted to submit one abstract per registered delegates. There is no limit imposed on co-authorship.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Author must register before submitting the abstract.
  • Notifications of acceptance will be sent to presenting authors by May 15, 2009. Scheduling details and instructions for oral and poster presentations will be included with this correspondence.
  • Submissions not conforming to established guidelines will not be reviewed.
ABSTRACT CONTENT
  • Abstracts should be concise and informative.
  • Abstracts stating merely that the results will be presented or discussed are considered uninformative and will be subject to rejection.
Abstracts can be submitted in the following categories:
  • Phylogeny, taxonomy and diversity
  • Ecology
  • Physiology, metabolism, and global responses
  • Environmental sensing and signal transduction
  • Bioenergetics, proteins and genomics
  • Bioremediation, secondary metabolites, and applied aspects
  • Other
SUBMISSION PROCEDURES
  • Authors must submit abstracts online.
  • Please be sure your abstract is in final form. It will appear in the Book of Abstracts as you have submitted it.
ABSTRACT FORMAT
  • Entire abstract (including abstract title, authors and affiliation) must fit within the borders of the box (maximum 300 words).
  • Abstract title must be in CAPITAL letters. Do not indent. Title should be concise and indicate the content of the abstract.
  • Author and co-author names, institutions, cities and countries are to be typed under the title. Initials should always precede the family name (i.e., J. Zhao). Underline the name of the presenting author. Each author should be listed by institution, city, state and country. Do not include degrees or professional titles (PhD, Prof., etc.).
  • Leave one line space between the title/author block and the body of the abstract.
  • Abstract text must be single-spaced. Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs.
  • The use of tables, graphs and other types of images in abstracts is discouraged. Should you need to add tables and figures, please embed them in the text, even if they were created using other software applications.
  • The use of trade names, company identifications or product names is discouraged.
  • Use standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full term the first time it appears.
  • Do not include references, credits or grant support.
